  • Where are you located?

    We are in the Mountainback Complex at Mammoth Lakes, California. We are in the best location in Mammoth, walking distance to Canyon Lodge (Ski Lifts) and The Village (Restaurants, Shops, Gondola, etc.)

  • Do we have access to shared hot tub, pool and sauna during our stay?

    Yes, you will receive the gate code to access any of the five outdoor hot tubs at Mountainback Complex. The pool is only open during the summer months.

  • What are your check-in / check-out times?

    Check-in starts at 4pm and check-out is 10am.

  • Do you have parking?

    We have two covered parking spots in our building’s garage. One of the spots is our reserved spot and the other is a guest spot, available on first-come basis. We do not have access to charging for electric vehicles, but there is a super charger in town.

  • Do you have wi-fi and cable in the condo?

    Yes, we have high-speed wifi and wired cable to the TV in the living room. All TVs including the living room have streaming with Amazon Prime. If you want to watch Netflix or any other streaming service, please remember to bring your user + password to login.

  • Do you allow pets?

    No, we do not allow any pets due to allergy issues.

  • Do you supply any household items?

    Yes, we supply dish soap, dishwasher tabs, hand soap, paper towels, sponge, laundry tabs, cleaning supplies and vacuum. We also supply all bathroom amenities such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

  • How far is the Village Gondola?

    The Village Gondola takes you on scenic ride to Canyon Lodge is a 10 minute downhill walk from our unit. You can also catch the Mammoth free shuttle right outside our building and it will drop you right in front.

  • How far are the ski fields?

    Canyon Lodge is the closest ski lodge to our unit is only 1/2 mile away and the easiest for you to access. You can take the blue line shuttle which picks up every 15 minutes and loops to the Village. We are the second stop from Canyon, so there is always a seat on the way to Canyon and a short ride on the way home.

  • Do you have any baby gear?

    We do not, but there is a local business in Mammoth that rents baby items and will drop directly to our unt. Please reach out to be connected.

  • Do I need a 4WD or chains to access Mountainback Chalet?

    A 4WD is not required to reach our building, but chains are always a good idea to have available as needed. To access our building you will come up Lake Mary which is a main road and typically cleared. Lakeside and the road to access Lakeside are also one of the first to be plowed.

  • Is there a shuttle near the condo?

    The free mammoth shuttle stops right in front of our building every 15 minutes. We are located on shuttle stop 76, three stops from Canyon Lodge so there is always room to hop on. The shuttle will take you to the Gondola, The Village and right to Canyon Lodge. Park your car in our covered garage and don't worry about it the rest of your trip!

  • How does check-in work?

    We use a digital smart lock to access our unit. A unique code is created for each guest to use during their stay. We will send a message a few days before your check-in dates with detailed directions on how to access the condo and your unique code for your stay. Once you arrive, you will need to go to the Mountainback Office to get your parking passes for your stay.

  • Do I need to worry about snow removal while I am there?

    Absolutely not. Mountainback Complex is a full service complex that makes sure pathways are cleared, entrance to the garage is accessible and pathway to hot tubs and facilities are cleared. Mammoth Lakes does sometimes receive extreme weather, so there could be delays in these services.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    If you book less than 30 days from your trip start date, you will get 48 hours from booking to cancel your trip with full refund. You will get 50% refund if you cancel within 15 days of your check-in date, and no refund after that. We also do not give refunds for inclental weather. We offer travel insurance that will cover your costs if your trip is cancelled or delayed due to weather.

  • Is there a lot to do in Mammoth in the summer?

    Yes! It is actually our favorite time in Mammoth. It is one of the best mountain biking places in the United States, with hundreds of miles of trails. Ski rental shops turn into E-Bike shops in the summer. riking is also very popular, kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, fishing, e-bikes and camping are also very popular.

  • Do you see the credit card we use when booking direct?

    No, your credit card information goes through Square via our direct booking program, Hospitable. We never see it.

  • Can you rent gear nearby?

    There are plenty of places to rent gear while in Mammoth, but the easiest one for our location is Canyon Lodge. They also offer free storage so you won't need to lug them back to the condo.
